Dear visitors,
We continue to publish a series of useful tips for working with DataLife Engine. Today I would like to tell you how best to transfer the script from your local server running on the hosting. Many people prefer to first test the script on the local machine and then transfer everything in the hosting, of course that everyone takes a script as he sees fit, but the purpose of this article describe how this is best done according to the authors, and is intended for those who have not ever did not perform such actions.
So you've finished testing and are ready to transfer the script on the server. To do this, first you need to create a backup of your database this in MySQL. Go to Admin -> DataLife Options -> Maintenance (Repair or backup MySQL database). After that, a copy of your database will be located in the folder /backup/.
Are you ready to copy all the files on the server, copy all the files from your localhost to hosting including all folders, including folder backup. Further, we recommend the installation of a new script on the server using the install.php. We recommend precisely this effect, because script will check all the rights to write to the folders you want, and tell you where they are lacking and need to be put. If you are running under Windows folder rights play no role, then at work on hosting this very important point. There will also be set up MySQL connection is on the server, not on your local machine.
Once you have made a new installation script, you must again go to Go to Admin -> DataLife Options -> Maintenance (Repair or backup MySQL database) and restore the backup database.
After restoring the database, you can either re-restore the configuration file script /engine/data/config.php, or to re-configure script in Admin CP.
Then, clear the contents of folders engine/cache/ and engine/cache/system/ of their contents, except files .htaccess
That's all your script successfully moved quite quickly and with minimal losses.
If you transfer the script and the database manually using standard script, remember that you must have write permissions to CHMOD 777 the folder templates/, backup/, engine/data/, engine/cache/, uploads/, as well as all sub-folders in them. All files in these folders should be set CHMOD 666.
